PV-Powered Charging Station with Energy Cost Optimization via V2G Services

Satisfying the increased power demand of electric vehicles (EVs) charged by clean energy sources will become an important aspect that impacts sustainability and carbon emissions smart grid. A photovoltaic (PV)-powered charging station (PVCS) formed PV modules a stationary storage system with public grid connection can provide cost-efficient reliable strategies for EV batteries. Moreover, utilization vehicle-to-grid (V2G) service is promising solution, as EVs spend most their time idle in stations. As result, V2G services have potential to advantages both operators users. In this paper, management algorithm PVCS formulated mixed-integer linear programming presented minimize total cost participation users service. Simulation results demonstrate proposed optimization method satisfies user demands while providing highlights benefits where determined costs perform significantly better compared baseline scenario (simulation without optimization).
